CHIN NA

Chin Na or Qin Na literally means to seize and control.

Found in all Chinese martial arts to some degree, Chin Na techniques are used to control one’s opponent without the use of traditional striking.  Chin Na relies upon four categories of application to subdue or submit one’s opponent.

  • Dividing / grabbing the muscle / tendon
  • Locking / dislocating the joint
  • Sealing the breath
  • Pressing / striking the acupressure cavity

Because of their effectiveness when used properly, Chin Na techniques are easily adapted (and are most often found to some degree or another) in to any martial artists arsenal of techniques.
